A “Clean” Getaway to a Profitable Future

thegrip-march-20173In college, Carolyn Holden began blending botanicals to help soothe her sensitive skin. What began as a hobby quickly turned into a passion, and, she realized that it was something she didn’t want to let go.  After graduating, Carolyn and her husband Mike started Provenance Soapworks and opened their store on historic Main Street in St. Charles, where they also hand make all of their products.  Drawing on inspiration from her summer backpacking through Europe as well as formulations she learned on her travels, Provenance Soapworks offers a wide variety of products to meet your skincare needs and to fit your mood, you can even custom blend your own scents.  As the company has grown they have enhanced their website and continue to add new products and scents, so even if you can’t make it into their store, you can have all natural handmade skincare products delivered right to your door.

After leasing their space since 2010, the EDC is now is assisting Provenance Soapworks with financing to purchase their building.
