EDC Business & Community Partners Elects New Chair, Announces New Board Appointments
December 18, 2017- The St. Charles County EDC Business & Community Partners is proud to announce the election of a new board chair, along with three new directors.
Dennis Maher, President of Enterprise Bank – St. Charles County Region, was elected board chairman at the EDC’s December meeting. Dennis previously served as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors and Chair of the organization’s loan committee. Under Dennis’s leadership the EDC’s 504 lending program was named the St. Louis region’s #1 SBA lender. Dennis earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Fontbonne University. He and his wife Brenda have three children and one grandchild.
In addition to the election of a new Chair, three new directors will join the organization’s board:
Jennifer Bonacorsi, President and co-founder of J. Bloom, was elected a director for a two-year term. J.Bloom, a jewelry manufacturer and distributor, is one of the St. Louis region’s most promising businesses. Under Jennifer’s leadership the company made the prestigious 2017 Inc. 5000 list, which ranks the nation’s fastest growing privately held firms. J.Bloom is a graduate of the EDC Incubator program and a testament to the organization’s long history of helping to launch successful businesses and entrepreneurs.
Edward Bryant, Vice President of Stakeholder Solutions at The United Way of Greater St. Louis, was elected a director for a two-year term. Edward has a decorated record of working to move the St. Louis regional business community forward on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. He has served as the Vice President of Diverse Business Solutions for the St. Louis Regional Chamber, President and CEO of the St. Louis Minority Business Council, and as a Vice President at the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership. Edward earned a Master’s degree in public policy from Regent University and is also a graduate of the University of Memphis.
Ajay Jhamb, Technology Leader at Enterprise Holdings and Founder of the American Cricket Academy, was elected a director for a one-year term. Ajay is a manager and leader at one of the St. Louis region’s largest and most successful companies, and the founder of a fast-growing youth-oriented sports academy and leadership development program. Since 2015 the American Cricket Academy has grown from a handful of participants to more than 200 student-athletes. The program not only focuses on cricket, but also on developing the leadership, science, and math skills of participants. Ajay earned his Master’s degree in computer science from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and received his undergraduate education at the National Institute of Technology Warangal.
